I implore you to check out Part 1 and Part 2 linked just below, not only to check out what I choose but to fill your day with awesome video game tracks.
Because honestly gaming is amazing and let’s celebrate some of the best music available.
5. “Tears” Health from the Max Payne 3 Soundtrack
This is the most recent track on the countdown, but it truly deserves a spot. Health did an amazing job on the soundtrack to Max Payne 3, a truly outstanding job. This track is great, I love the lyrics and the unique sounds. This song hits during a sequence in Max Payne 3 and every moment of gameplay is emphasized brilliantly, it truly makes this scene memorable and this soundtrack in general makes Max Payne 3 one of my games of the year so far.
4. “Unknown” Mega Man 3 Track
My apologies to everyone reading, I searched high and low for this track but I failed. I did find a remix that is just as good, but the original is awesome. So awesome in fact I have never played a MegaMan game and this track is still great to listen to. The 8 bit bleeps and bloops are great and it is actually a very cheerful and energetic track. If you now the original let me know, until then here is the remix. Gangsta
3. “Icarus” Deus Ex Human Revolution
The Deus Ex prequel was able to capture the world perfectly in music, this track in the main theme and it grabs you right from the main menu. such an amazing track and it fits the world perfectly, the sci-fi tones, the god like choir in the background and the atmospheric structure. This is a track I love to listen to, there are so many great tracks in this game and along with the amazing amount of gameplay options this was my game of the year last year. Do yourself a favour and experience this game, or at least sit back and let this track take you away, epic.
2. “Build That Wall” Bastion
During Bastion you meet Zia, this exact moment this gorgeous track starts to play, such a beautiful voice and some of the most relaxing music you will ever hear. I came across this song and stopped. Maybe 20 minutes later I decided to continue on through the game, this track is just gorgeous I could listen to this track non-stop. So gorgeous and it is just amazing, so hard to explain…Just listen to this amazing track!
1. “Still Alive” Portal
