Metal Gear Solid 5 images were Fake!
Posted by Jamie Briggs
Late last week images from a possible “Metal Gear Solid 5″ were leaked through NeoGaf, these blurry images were of possibly a main menu title screen or even a loading screen of the title. These images were apparently taken in a behind closed doors announcement at Comic-Con last week in San Diego. After a weekend to stew on the possibility of a MGS 5 series creator Hideo Kojima has finally confirmed these images were completely fake.
Kojima also added “I apologize to those who were looking forward. Anyway it proved I can still create the buzz.” More Kojima staff have jumped to confirm these fake images, Kojima Productions senior producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi Tweeted “I’ve been asked about the screen shots of MGS5 on the game sites. These’re ALL FAKE. We’ll update when we’re ready to announce.”
The images of the supposed “Metal Gear Solid 5″ were apparently running on Kojima’s Fox Engine, which was a giveaway that these images were on the fake side of things as he previously stated any new game using this engine “May take while” to complete. Kojima is no stranger to the news as of late as we reported Metal Gear Solid 4 to be receiving a trophy patch a few weeks ago.
Along with this quote from the man himself regarding a new Metal Gear Solid title only a month ago,”About Metal Gear Solid 5, I can tell you two things. There will be much question of infiltration, espionage, and convincing people to give you ‘a favor’ like in the last Metal Gear Solid.” Basically confirming the existence of the title itself, following up with the statement regarding a reveal time “When the time comes”
If you cannot wait for Metal Gear Solid 5, Platinum Games will be releasing the Raiden inspired hack and slash Metal Gear Rising: Revengence in 2013.
