At Konami’s Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Event a Metal Gear movie has been announced, it will be made in association with Columbia Pictures. Avi Arad, known for his work on X-Men, Iron Man and the recent Amazing Spider-Man will be producing the film and was on stage along with the announcement.

A stage full of greatness

John Ricciardi tweeted from the event stating Arad said, “For many years I fought to bring comics to theaters – and video games are the comics of today,” There were no further details given at the event regarding the film, but it is certain to be in very early stages of development at this time. But fans are already calling for Solid Snake voice actor David Haytor to take up the role.

That wasn’t the only big announcement at the event, with Hideo Kojima announcing the latest game in the franchise Metal Gear solid: Ground Zeroes. Which is supposedly an open-world adventure, which could possibly be the most ambitious Metal Gear project ever.
