Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes Announced

Finally after weeks of waiting the rumoured big announcement from Hideo Kojima at the Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Event was revealed. Konami has announced a new game in the franchise to the excitement of many die-hard fans, the title will be called Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.
The announcement was followed by a real-time demo, the only English language reports that have been posted so far have been through Twitter. Guests in attendance were asked to keep silent on what they were seeing, but you guessed it…Many hopped over to the social media site to spill the beans. Even though many posts were deleted within minutes, the idea we have been able to to piece together is that Ground Zeroes is an open-world game that was running on current-generation PC specs.
Below is the only official released image, from Famitsu.
Running on Kojima’s Fox Engine, which was scheduled to be unveiled at the event, it has left many of those in attendance amazed. Sadly there is no footage released to the rest of the world as yet and we do not know when this announcement will be unveiled elsewhere.
Twitter user @markmacd tweeted,”Demo of “Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes”, started w cutscene (all realtime), went into gameplay, open world, night, raining, base. AMAZING,” followed by “Snake crawled @ avoiding searchlights, killed guard, rode jeep, called in heli for evac. Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere… Wow.” Sounds as if the latest Metal Gear title will be the most ambitious adventure yet.
Earlier in the week Kojima Productions Chris Johns, spoke during Kojima Productions latest podcast, stating that the announcement coming at the Metal Gear 2th Anniversary event would “shake” the industry. With the internet buzzing, it’s hard to deny.
Excited for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes? What could an open-world setting add to the game? Let us know in the comments below.
