In a week containing information about a Mass Effect trilogy bundle coming this year as well as more Dead Space 3 footage, and the confirmation of zombies in CoD Black Ops 2, gamers continue to be spoiled with the announcement from ex-Rare employees about their desire to create a spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.
A Twitter handle named Mingy Jongo was created and used to get a feel for how many people would be interested in the project. As of this writing, the account (formed on September 8th) has 9,425 followers and some of the tweets inform followers of things like the fact that the game would not be another Banjo game, it would be a new IP but with that same sense of humour and light-heartedness. They have said it would still be a 3D platformer, and while it sounds like a Kickstarter project is the way the developers are leaning, it has helped countless other projects get off the ground and I’m sure there are more than enough fans of Banjo-Kazooie willing to pitch in for a title of similar style and quality.
There are very few details at the moment, with all of it coming from that Twitter account. As more is posted, we’ll keep you informed, but for now you should go give Mingy Jongo a follow on Twitter and show your support!
…Seriously, if you don’t, Kazooie will shoot eggs at you.
