If you plan on picking up Call Of Duty Black Ops II, you’ll get the Elite Service for free. This service will be free to everyone, even if this is your first time.
Players will have the option to have all of the upcoming DLC either paid for separately for $15.99 or as a Season Pass for $49.95. The first DLC packs with multiplayer and Zombie content is slated for release in 2013. The Elite service will won’t be on every platform at launch. 360 and PS3 players will be able to access the service from the launch date but PC and Wii U players aren’t getting it just yet. In an interview with IGN, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said that Activision are “evaluating options to bring Elite services to the PC and Wii U.” PC players will still get the DLC packs along with the PS3 and 360 but the Wii U currently has no access to DLC. “Our goal is to bring the Season Pass and DLC to the Wii U also, but it’s a new system and we need a bit more time to work out the details with Nintendo,” said Hirshberg. 360 players will still be getting the DLC first as a timed exclusive.
As for what is available for Elite members at launch, the list is as follows:
. Clan HQ – Allows players to join or create clans to be able to fight together.
. Player HQ – Allows the tracking of Black Ops II stats by players.
. Zombie Leaderboards.
. Call Of Duty Elite TV – Developer advice, strategy video’s etc.
. Social Integration – Includes a notification system that allows deeper integration for players.
Call Of Duty Elite will also be supported with tablets in the form of an App that allows the players t be up to date with clans, notifications and the like. If you’re already a Call Of Duty Elite member, your subscription hasn’t been forgotten. Your subscription to MW3 will carry on until the subscription ends and Elite Founders Status’ will carry onto Black Ops II. “Elite founders are amongst our most loyal customers, which we don’t take lightly. So, we’re committed to honoring them with ongoing rewards and stature as we transition to Black Ops II.”
Black Ops II will be out on November the 13th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on the 13th of November with the Wii U version following on the 18th.
