Borderlands iPhone Game Is Official

Yesterday, Analog Addiction reported on an advert on the Borderlands digital strategy guide that leaked an IOS version of Borderlands called Borderlands Legends. Today, 2K has announced that the advert is indeed legitimate and that we are getting Borderlands Legends. Here’s the low down on Borderlands Legends.

The game lets you take control of all four characters from the first game, Mordecai, Brick, Roland and Lilith. Players will be able to control the four characters simultaneously as they battle through enemies. The game is also played from a third-person top-down perspective. “The Borderlands universe is no longer just a console experience.With intuitive, touch-based commands and slick UI, Borderlands Legends combines the inventory and skill tree management that gamers already love about the franchise with a layer of strategy that is popular on mobile devices.”

You’ll be fighting familiar enemies such as Skags, Bandits and Ants. You’ll get three action skills per character alongside six abilities with five available levels for each on customisable skill trees. You’ll need to utilise strategy to take down enemies rather than go all out on combat. We haven’t yet got word on how exactly the gameplay will work but it’s likely that actions and movements will be touch based. Cooldown abilities are available through a touch icon at the icon on the top-right.

You’ll still have boss battles in Legends alongside unlimited level grinding with enemies levelling up to match you skill. Like the consoles, the missions will be randomised.
