Sony Has Fantastic Holiday Gaming Bundles

Every year for the past few years during the holiday season, Sony releases a few controller bundles. These bundles come with a DUALSHOCK 3 controller and one of Sony’s biggest games from that year. They cost $59.99 (USD), essentially making the game that comes with the controller $5.

This year, Sony has really outdone themselves. There are three different bundles — at least in North America — and they each contain:

• “God of War Saga” with Deep Red DUALSHOCK 3
• “inFAMOUS Collection” with Metallic Blue DUALSHOCK 3
• “Ratchet and Clank Colleciton” with Black DUALSHOCK 3

God of War Saga bundle

Though the first bundle says you save $34, it goes beyond that. The “God of War Saga” contains “God of War,” “God of War II,” “God of War III,” “God of War: Chains of Olympus,” “God of War: Ghosts of Sparta,” bonus content only available with game and a one month voucher for Playstation Plus. You’re basically getting the two prequels and the first two games remastered in HD including “God of War III” with bonus content and Playstation Plus all for an extra $5.

inFAMOUS Collection bundle

With the inFAMOUS Collection bundle, the savings are amazing as well. The “inFAMOUS Collection” contains “inFAMOUS,” “inFAMOUS 2,” “inFAMOUS: Festival of Blood” DLC, and exclusive extra missions, character costumes, power ups and weapon styles only available with this collection. To get the full experience of both the games and Festival of Blood DLC, you have to play through the game twice; one playthrough as good and the other evil, which gives some serious replay to this collection. Again, it’s basically for an extra $5.

Ratchet and Clank Collection bundle

Finally, if you’ve never played the Ratchet and Clank series, this is the best way to get started. The “Ratchet and Clank Collection” comes packed with the HD versions of “Ratchet and Clank,” “Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando,” “Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal,” voucher for 10th anniversary Ratchet and Clank avatar, voucher for an early access to the “Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time” demo and online multiplayer support for “Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal.” I am personally excited for this bundle because I not only missed out on Ratchet and Clank during its Playstation 2 days, but it also comes with an early demo for Sly 4, which I am extremely excited about.

This year, Sony has gone all out with their controller bundles. I would highly suggest getting at least one of these this holiday season if you don’t have one of these games already. Each of them come with high replay value for a mere $5.
