Wii Mini Is A Canada Exclusive
UPDATE: 27/11/12
The Wii Mini is in fact real and will be a Canadian exclusive only available through the holiday season. The console will be priced at £99.99 and will feature no backwards compatibility nor any internet functions. It will feature a red Wii Remote Plus and Nunchuck. Nintendo have said that there is no information available as to whether it will be released internationally at any stage.
Original story starts here:
After yesterday’s report, the Wii Mini is confirmed to exist.
A leaked report yesterday that Nintendo was set to release a miniature version of their Wii console and that the release date would be incredibly soon with it allegedly set for release on the 7th of December.
A listing on Best Buy’s Canadian site has the console up for pre-order but a price has yet to be released. A stock image is posted on Best Buy’s website that displays the Wii U though when you go to enlarge the image or try to pre-order it, the site takes you to a list of Wii games and peripherals.
The Wii Mini looks to be coloured in red and black complete with a Wii Remote. According to yesterday’s leak, the package will also include a sensor bar and a nunchuck though that’s not evident from the listing.
Whether or not Best Buy are pulling an April Fools joke five months early or whether this is legitimate is still to be determined as Nintendo is remaining ever tightlipped on the topic.

That’s nice and all… but I’d rather pay extra for backwards compatibility and internet connection. I honestly don’t see the strategy in releasing this at all.
It’s awesome we get something exclusive for once. It sucks that it’s something that serves almost no purpose at all
I know haha. I can’t think of a good reason as to why they’d release it now of all times.
