Hideo Kojima wants to expand the Metal Gear name.
Kojima has revealed that upcoming additions to the Metal Gear franchise will feature new concepts that are intended to hint at a new series of intellectual properties that will use the Metal Gear name. Kojma said that he wants to be remembered for doing a lot more than just creating Metal Gear Solid, which can be considered a very great thing to be remembered for alone.
“I’ll admit that I hope my future endeavours are thought of as ‘works by Hideo Kojima’ rather than ‘from the creator of Metal Gear'”, said Kojima in an interview with EGM. “I haven’t really shown the world what else I might be capable of yet. This may sound pretentious, but I don’t like being thought of as the Metal Gear guy. There’s a lot more I can do.”
Earlier this year, Kojima unveiled the rumoured game to be running the brand new engine, Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes. Kojima did not specify exactly what it is that the new concepts will be.
