New Wii Firmware Is Up And Nintendo Announce Dates For Nintendo Direct
The Wii U firmware update version 2.1.0 is readily available for Nintendo’s new console.
The day one firmware update (version 2.0.0) activated Miiverse and the consoles online functions. Update 2.1.0 will improve the over stability of the Wii U system as well as minor system adjustments.
Depending on your internet connection, Wii U owners are set to feel PlayStation 3 owners pain with how long the update is going to take to download. The file size is 593MB and could take 30 minutes to download or it could take 2 hours. One would hope for the former.
In other news, Nintendo has released dates for the Nintendo Direct broadcast for Japan, Europe and North America.
Those of you in North America will be able to view the broadcast at 9am PST today. Yes, today. It’s unclear exactly what Nintendo will update us on the 3DS and Wii U games though we could be seeing some release dates for games that have released solely in Japan for the moment. Japanese viewers will be able to view the broadcast at 3am PST with Europe’s running today at 5pm GMT.
