Journey’s Soundtrack Nominated For A Grammy
The PS3 exclusive, Journey, has been nominated for a Grammy.
Unlike Civilization IV‘s lone track that was nominated, and won, Journey’s whole soundtrack is up for nomination.
This is the first video game score to ever be nominated in the Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media category. The score, composed by Austin Wintory, is up against The Adventures of Tintin- The Secret of the Unicorn, The Artist, The Dark Knight Rises, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and Hugo.
Austin Wintory tweeted, “Well I don’t really have words right now… I just got a Grammy nomination for #JourneyPS3.”
Kellee Santiago also tweeted, “Austin Wintory has made history by having the first video game score nominated for a Grammy!”
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards are on Sunday, 10th February.
We wish Journey, Thatgamecompany, and Austin Wintory the best of luck.
