IGF 2013 Finalists Will Be Offered Steam Distribution
It’ll probably have it’s own Steam sale, too.

The next Independent Games Festival will be featuring a rather potentially profitable prize. The organizers of the event have struck a deal with Valve wherein the finalists of the awards ceremony will be given the option of having their games distributed on Steam, Valve’s online digital game distribution platform, bypassing all that hogwash with Greenlight and the usual methods for Steam distribution.
This pans across all award types like “Excellence in Visual Art” for games with stellar visuals, “Technical Achievement” for games that can do something new and innovative, and the brand new “Excellence in Narrative” award. There are five finalists per category, so expect a lot of cool and interesting games to be available on Steam next year!
