Assassin’s Creed III Sells Big. Very Big

Assassin’s Creed III has sold 7 million copies during its first month of sale according to Ubisoft.

Assassin’s Creed III sold 3.5 million units in its first week of sale so the doubled result of 7 million units makes the game the fastest-selling game in Ubisoft’s company history.

“Fans have accumulated more than 82 centuries of gaming time” in the single player portion of the game. Players have also performed over 3 billion assassinations in the game. Twice the number of players playing the games multiplayer has also been noted, doubling the number of people who played the multiplayer portion for Assassin’s Creed Revelations from 2011.

“The reception for Assassin’s Creed III has been exceptional, and this success has positioned the game among the best sellers of the 2012 holiday season” said Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Ubisoft. We knew he had something special on our hands when Assassin’s Creed III was launched and we’re really excited and proud to see how much fans are enjoying the latest installment in the franchise.”

The next big piece of DLC, The Tyranny Of King Washington received a trailer at the VGA’s last friday.
