Say Hello To Ubisoft Abu Dhabi
Ubisoft has opened a new studio named Ubisoft Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
A job listing for an art director reveals not only the existence of the new studio but also that in 3-5 years, the studio hopes to have 100 staff members in its employ. The listing says that “Ubisoft Abu Dhabi has committed to Ubisoft’s global goal to strive for excellence, its focus is to develop worldwide leading online games as well as enter the online MENA market; all in one”.
Ubisoft Abu Dhabi’s aim is to “create online products for everyone” and to “gain substantial market share and leadership in the online MENA landscape”. Ubisoft Abu Dhabi will be responsible for the operation of Ubisoft titles in the Middle East.
The head of the studio is one Yannick Theler who will serving as the studio’s managing director. Theler previously worked at Ubisoft Shanghai as the studio’s human resources director.

It’d be nice to play a game made by middle-eastern developers that isn’t made by religious extremists as either a parody or an attack on another culture.
