Would You Like A Free Game With Your Wii U?
According to a report from a NeoGAF, those who buy a second hand Wii U console can get free games. But how?
Apparently, the user in question who bought it found that it was possible to re-download titles that were previously bought on the console. The pre-purchased games of course have been already paid for by the original owner. It seems that even wiping the hard drive and removing the user account will not prevent this. As a result, the NeoGAF user downloaded Trine 2 and Nano Assault Neo through the pre-owned Wii U.
A reason for why this might be happening could be down to the licenses for downloaded content being tied to the actual console instead of the users account. This is designed to allow other people using one console to have access to what has been downloaded. So for example if your kids want to play Mario on the Wii U, they all have access.
Hopefully, Nintendo will be updating the community soon as to why this can happen.
