Lara Croft Gets Her Own Xbox 360 Controller

In addition to a series reboot, it seems Lara Croft is also getting her own limited edition Xbox 360 controller.

FINAL - Xbox 360 Tomb Raider Limited Edition Wireless Controller - Boxed

The Tomb Raider limited edition wireless controller was revealed by Microsoft, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this past Thursday.

The controller’s design features “A two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story…” and will be priced at $59.99 when it launches with the game. Here is a closer shot of the controller:

Microsoft keeps up the tradition with their limited edition controllers by adding extra downloadable content with its purchase. This time around, the DLC is a playable character known as the Scavenger Archer, who is exclusively available on the Xbox 360.

What are your thoughts? Do you need to add this to an ever growing Xbox 360 controller collection? Do you think it has a sweet design? Maybe it’s not scraped enough? Let us know in the comments section.

  1. This controller actually looks really cool. Too bad I got an awesome looking Blue Chrome controller for Christmas. Now I can see my reflection while I game.

    • I really want that controller, that one looks epic…But Xbox 360 controllers always break for me, I have 4 ones stacked up with their backs not staying in. So I have to always keep my controllers wired, which sucks. So now stay clear of new controllers for my 360.

    • It does look pretty awesome, but I’m not going to get it. I don’t need another controller right now. I must have extremely good luck too, haha. I still have my first 360 controller from 2006. The only problem I’ve had with a 360 controller where something wasn’t my fault (and even in that case it was only one controller) was the Gears of War 3 controller. I was having problems chatting with people over Xbox because something was wrong with it and I wasn’t the only one with the issue either, so I ended up taking it back. :/
