New Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel Videos
EA recently released two brief clips of their upcoming game Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel. They’re only a little more than 30 seconds in length, but they’re designed to introduce some of the enemies you’ll meet in the game. The first is just a standard mercenary, although he wields a knife and seems eager to stab you with it. The second enemy should be familiar to fans of the series as he is the heavily armoured soldier that you need to flank in order to kill.
Now, what I like about the second video is that it shows you the enemy, and it shows you how to take him down, but it also shows you how an altercation with the armoured enemy can go if you put on your Rambo costume and try to take him on solo. The Army of Two series has always been about co-op and while for the most part it’s completely feasible to finish the games with a co-op partner that sits back and does nothing, or with an AI partner that you tell to constantly hold their position, the experience is far more enjoyable with a local co-op partner. Clearly EA and Visceral want to drive home the point that teamwork is the key to success.
Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel comes to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on March 26th and March 29th in North America and Europe respectively. Eric is a sucker for some quality local co-op gaming and while he’s a little sad that he won’t be playing as Salem or Rios, he’s still excited for the next installment of this series. He’s also an editor for Analog Addiction where you can find all the latest gaming news, previews, reviews, and everything else that rhymes with those words. ‘Like’ Analog Addiction on Facebook to receive all of the updates as they’re posted.
