Mysterious New PlayStation Ad Teases Game

A new PlayStation advert titled “Game Day 2013 Teaser” was uploaded to PlayStations Youtube channel last night which teases a new game.

The trailer itself looks to most likely be teasing the upcoming title from Sony Santa Monica, God of War: Ascension. Have a look at the trailer below and decided for yourself.

The trailer features a young woman probably in her late twenties walking through a field in the countryside with what appears to be ashes flying through the air. Now the woman in this trailer could very well be Kratos’ wife, whom he murders in a blind rage prior to his vengeful journey against Ares, the God of War and eventually the God of Olympus themselves. The woman’s dress can easily match that of an ancient Greek dress, or at least how apparel used to look in those days from a pop culture perspective. And whilst it probably isn’t, the landscape could just as easily disguise itself as Greece, Cyprus or some of the surrounding Greek islands.

Just after we see the woman, we see the camera cut to a closeup of an eye suddenly opening. The skin around the eye looks to be covered in ash. So what this trailer could be telling us is that this is some kind of flashback of Kratos’ wife after he murdered her in the blind rage caused by Ares. The ashes in the air could also symbolise this as Kratos’ skin is plastered with the ashes of his wife and daughter.
