God of War: Ascension receives R18 Rating In Australia, Can’t Be Sold In Queensland.
A report from Kotaku Australia suggests God of War: Ascension has been given an R18 rating. The rating can be confirmed via the official Australian Classification Board website. This rating probably comes at no surprise to many.

I don’t think it’s necessary to report about every single game that gets rated R18, but there is something more interesting about the rating. Retailers in the state of Queensland won’t be able to sell the game because they have not yet passed legislation for the R18 rating.
An internal message sent at a major retailer says,
“As Queensland has not passed legislation for the R18 rating for games we must remove all reference to God of War Ascension immediately, this includes all game slicks, posters, pamphlets, hand written signage, 2-way units and pre order signage”
Hopefully Queensland can pass legislation soon so there are not more incidents like this.
