Yesterday, we confirmed that the Wii U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines missed it’s March 31st release date, and SEGA remained tight lipped. Now we know why: the Wii U version has been officially dropped.
The publisher confirmed this to Kotaku.
If you think about it, this move from SEGA can’t simply surprise anyone. Past versions (360, PS3, PC) have all been a complete disaster, with the publisher even admitting that it misled fans with past released trailers. We at AA gave it a 5.5, stating that “[after roughly an hour] the game drops all of that [suspenseful atmosphere of the Alien movies] and turns into an abysmal modern day shooter.”
SEGA even wanted at some point during development to cancel it all. Maybe developer Gearbox might have been better off that way.
