The XCOM FPS has been ‘Refined’; “Only a matter of days” Until Its Reveal

XCOM FPS #1

Last week, we reported that the upcoming XCOM FPS has “disappeared” from the internet. Apparently, the game’s website and trailers have been taken down because a more refined version of the tactical FPS is in the works.

According to 2K’s blog, “In the coming days the world will get a fresh look at the long-awaited squad-based tactical shooter in development at 2K Marin.”

The game has reportedly changed since its initial reveal at last year’s E3 – “the game has undergone an evolution [...] 2K Marin has refined their vision, and as a result the game has evolved into a high-stakes narrative experience imbued with core XCOM concepts.”

The blog post ends with – “The wait is nearly over and we can’t wait to share more details with you about the game in only a matter of days.”

    • Indeed. I think they saw how successful the turn-based XCOM was and then when they looked at the FPS one they were probably like: “Aha… back to the drawing board.”
