The headline is correct, there is the possibility of there being a sequel to Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the stand alone expansion of Far Cry 3. This news comes from a recent interview Michael Biehn gave to Xbox’s Major Nelson Radio podcast.
According to Biehn some of the higher ups within Ubisoft were cautious about the project at first but the expansion has gone on to sell for five times more than Ubisoft had expected. This success led to the creative director of Blood Dragon, Dean Evans apparently calling Biehn up to discuss the following quote:
“Dean was with me on the phone last night. He was pretty jacked up. He was going into a meeting today, to you know.. I think he wants to turn it into some sort of franchise. He’s got a sequel in mind.”
There may be plenty of ideas for how to create a sequel to this expansion, which given its success may be a possibility but until we find out anything definitive this story is all conjecture. You can listen to the whole interview by clicking on the following link.
