The Live TV feature for the Xbox One will only be supported for users playing in the United States at launch.
Microsoft confirmed to VG247 territories outside the US will not have access to Live TV with Kinect, Live TV with One Guide, NFL and Trending. Microsoft has assured fans a worldwide release will come eventually.
During its reveal of the new console, Microsoft confirmed “Live TV [on the Xbox One] will require a supported receiver device with HDMI output.” The device itself will be sold separately.
Xbox One will allow its users to search and watch live TV from your “cable, telco or satellite set-top box through your Xbox One.” Microsoft has told fans how it is “committed to bringing live TV through various solutions to all the markets where Xbox One will be available.”
A time frame of when other territories will get these services remains to be seen just as the price of the add-on device which is sold separately.
