Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai has teased the appearance of Smash Bros. on the Wii U in the next Nintendo Direct.
Speaking on Twitter, creator of the beloved series created posted a Tweet earlier today to tease the game. “Please take note,” said Sakurai, “on the Nintendo Direct broadcast on June 11, we will be showing the first images of our new Smash Bros – simultaneously, worldwide, at the same time.”
It’s worth mentioning Sakurai’s Tweet was in Japanese so this is a rough translation but it could be the case these “images” we’ll be shown won’t just be images. Given how Nintendo announced earlier this year how Smash Bros. would be shown at E3, it would be a rather peculiar move for Nintendo to show a few mere screenshots so expect to be treated to some videos and a trailer. However, the announcement was made a few months before Nintendo announced it wouldn’t be holding a press conference at this years E3. Instead, we’ll be seeing games on the show floor instead.
The next Nintendo Direct will air next Tuesday at 7am PDT.
