Although Sony unquestionably put on an amazing, crowd-pleasing E3 presentation this year, many Team Ico fans were sorely disappointed that the long-delayed PlayStation exclusive, The Last Guardian was nowhere to be seen.
Fortunately after the conference came to a close, Game Informer’s Andy McNamara managed to grab a quick word with Sony and was able to inquire as to the current status of the fervently sought-after adventure title.
He was informed that the game was still “on track”, which he then relayed to the gaming community at large via Twitter.
Ran into Sony after the conference. The Last Guardian still “on track.” Just had to check and I thought I would share.

While this update is rather vague and doesn’t exactly make up for the absence of the game’s huge, adorable griffin-like creature from E3 – it’s definitely reassuring to know that the project is still in active development. Besides, you never know… perhaps if we’re lucky we’ll finally get to find out more at this year’s Gamescom or the Tokyo Game Show?
