Uncanny X-Force #6
Another solid issue by Humphries where he has managed to explore the mindset some of the cast find themselves in. From the start of this book we expected that the one thing that we will get more out of this story arc is finding out what makes these characters tick. Each character had shown to be troubled or broken, and that is something that creates a bit of mystery. Humphries has proven so far between Bishop, Psylocke and Spiral that he understands them and in general how they react in certain situations.
Humphries’ dialogue between Wolverine and Psylocke was something which was executed well. It was something that you expected to happen at some point and it felt real because of how different they find themselves to be despite being former teammates. The style of the book has remained consistent. The one complaint I have with this issue is that some of the action sequences looked off. You see when Psylocke was fighting Spiral and some transitions seemed off and a bit confusing. Aside from that the details are there and the shadows stand out.
As stated in the last issue, the inclusion of Fantomex and Cluster does feel like a distraction, though it’s hard to argue with their problems given that it’s key to Psylocke’s troubled past between the conclusion of the previous Uncanny X-Force book and now.
