State Of Decay MMO Sequel In Negotiations With Microsoft

Undead Labs follow-up to State of Decay, Class4 is still awaiting the greenlight from Microsoft which comes as a surprise given the game’s large success since release.

“We cannot begin working on Class4 without a greenlight from Microsoft and a mutually agreeable contract,” said Undead Labs’ Sanya Weathers to Eurogamer.

Weathers also explained how technology factors into the game and how Undead Labs can construct the planned MMO followup. “We have to agree on where we think the technology is going to be in a few years; we have to agree that we have the same goals; and we have to agree on how we’ll collectively run and support the final game.”

Weathers concluded by stating the talks are still on-going.

State of Decay released earlier this month and has been received exceptionally well by what seems like almost word of mouth alone. However, at times the game runs about as well as a Lamborghini on British potholes so Undead Labs are hard at work patching the game.
