AVENGERS #14 REVIEW

Avengers #14

Written by: Johnathan Hickman
Art by: Stefano Caselli

Great issue and prelude to Infinity. The world has been shot into chaos and Hickman has shown that. From global power outages, nuclear reactor meltdowns, falling satellites, planes, and this is on top of the many creatures spawning which are hostile. There is a sense of urgency throughout the whole issue, and the suspense continues to grow as there is something bigger out there that they aren’t prepared for.

It was interesting to find that A.I.M. of course was part of the problem. Of course letting their greed get to them this was something to be expected of them and added a little chuckle since they don’t ever really know what forces they mess with. If anything it shows that Hickman doesn’t leave any stone unturned. It’s good to see how everything has in some way come full circle to make sense of everything that is occurring right now.

As a prelude to Infinity, we may not know what it leads to, but we surely know that what excitement this book has brought us will cross over into this upcoming event. Proving again  that this story is more than meets the eye. Avengers #14 dives deeper into what the Origin Bomb is truly capable of. Where things were bad learning that Earth had to be judged on whether it was worthy of evolution, now it is being forced upon them and it’s effects are not in their favor. It has been a complex story, layered with mystery and that is what makes it exciting. The art and style of the book again has been stunning, hasn’t been anything less since the start of this book. I honestly cannot just stop and look at their facial features and not feel as though this is real.

Score: 8.1/10
