Minecraft’s “Horse Update” Launching Next Week

Mojang has announced that Minecraft’s 1.6 update, also dubbed the “Horse Update,” will be launching next week, on June 1st. Among the obvious inclusion of horses, this newest update will also bring new additions, like donkeys, mules etc.

This update requires a new launcher, which is available for Windows, Mac/OSX, and Linux/Other. Below is the update’s change-log.

  • Added Horses
  • Added Donkeys, Mules
  • Added Horse Armor
  • Added Leads
  • Added Carpets
  • Added Hardened Clay, Stained Clay
  • Added Block of Coal
  • Added Name Tags (item)
  • Added Hay Bales
  • Texture packs are now “resource packs” that also can hold sound etc
  • Food meter is now drained when healed by full food meter
  • Removed Herobrine

  1. Nice! Was wondering when this was coming out, epic horse duels will be insane! Hope we don’t have to wait too long for this on the 360.
