WILL GTA V FOR THE PC LAUNCH IN APRIL/MAY 2014?

Grand Theft Auto V is one of the most anticipated titles in our current generation of gaming. Rockstar is known for always delivering top-notch quality games (from the entire GTA franchise, to Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 etc.) so it’s only fair that pretty much every gamer out there wants to experience the publisher’s titles.

That said, looking back at all the other entries in the GTA franchise made me realise something: Rockstar isn’t so fond of the PC. Because of the following release dates, I believe that gamers will see a PC version of GTA V sometimes in April/May 2014.

GRAND THEFT AUTO III

PlayStation 2 release date: October 2001. PC release date: May 2002.

GRAND THEFT AUTO: VICE CITY

PlayStation 2 release date: October 2002. PC release date: May 2003.

GRAND THEFT AUTO: SAN ANDREAS

PlayStation 2 release date: October 2004. PC release date: June 2005.

GRAND THEFT AUTO IV

PS3/Xbox 360 release date: April 2008. PC release date: December 2008.

Did you catch the pattern yet? When it came to GTA III and Vice City, there was a seven months gap between the console version and the PC one. When it came to San Andreas and GTA IV, there was an eight months gap between them. Looking at this statistic, I’m inclined to believe that GTA V’s gap will also consist of seven to eight months, meaning that it’ll probably launch in April/May 2014.

GRAND THEFT AUTO V

PS3/Xbox 360 release date: September 2013. PC release date: ?

What do you think? Will Rockstar be more kind to PC gamers this time around and deliver GTA V earlier, or will they have to once again wait almost an entire year to experience Michael, Franklin and Trevor’s story? Let me know in the comments below.
