Here’s The Xbox One UI Notifications

Supposed screenshots of the notification bar for the Xbox One have emerged on Reddit giving us an idea of what we can expect to see on Microsoft’s newest console in terms of in-game pop ups.

The notification bar looks a little bit different this time around with the bar being a bit smaller and rectangular in shape thus doing away with the long bar with the rounded off edges. It’s also displaying user’s profile pictures as well as players real names instead of their Gamer Tags.

You’ll also notice the Smart-Match feature the Xbox One has which will allow players to find online game matches whilst engaging in other activities on the console. This also means you won’t be waiting around in lobbies waiting for people to join a game.

Like the rest of the UI, the notification bars are retaining the Windows 8 design Microsoft has in its computers, phones and tablets.

It’s a bit tough to see what exactly the notification bar says in the second block on the screenshot above but this looks like the method we’ll likely use to access messages in game.

What do you think? Do you like the new arguably sleeker look of the Xbox One UI? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. I don’t know why, but I like the fact that they show the Gamer Picture and the real name. If you think it’s intrusive, then the current X360 notifications are also intrusive then. Doesn’t PS3 do the same thing?

    • But that’s the thing , i’d expect improvement on both . Not additional pictures and even wrose placement . At least on ps3 xbox most stuff were on the right or left top of the screen and discreet

  2. Sleeker ? it’s in your face and intrusive . I can already picture dumb scenes with an achievement pop up right in the middle of a subtitle
