With the PlayStation Vita still struggling to sell units, a new source indicates a price drop for Sony’s latest handheld could be imminent.
The source, a forum user on Blu-Ray.com posted a leaked advert from the US retailer target showing a PlayStation Vita priced at $199 which is down from the asking price of $249 for the standard Wi-Fi model.
Gamescom begins next week so perhaps an announcement from Sony isn’t too farfetched to think of. Sony has already cut the price of the Vita in Japan and whilst the company has previously stated the handheld will not drop in price in the West but bear in mind how the PS4 is going to be the major accessory to the PlayStation 4. It would make sense for Sony to get as many people interested in the Vita for that reason as possible.
