Even with Belle Reve running a muck with villains free, Amanda Waller still finds herself pulling the strings. Considering this is a Forever Evil tie-in, this was the best book to still be ongoing. We see some faces that have been out of the picture for some time and a few expected to join up on this team given their motivations.

It’s this perspective that we should be able to see more from when concerning Forever Evil. They have the opportunity to do as they feel and as you can see, nobody in power is wasting that chance. Even if working for the Syndicate, they still have enough freedom to do as they please if in that kind of position of authority. The world is in chaos and that much Matt Kindt makes sure you’re aware of throughout this issue. Biggest twist came at the very end as the Suicide Squad is faced against another which may prove to be more than a match for them given their firepower. Finding out that it’s Thinker behind it is more shocking because you don’t think that much of him. Strong start to finish, showing Waller who is now running from what she created, enemies.

James seems to be the main focus here and it’s something different yet welcome seeing how he sees the big picture. Through his eyes this situation is easier to be explored and understood being the insightful criminal mind he is. Best choice overall and has the most motivation for rescuing Waller, as he is still in love with her. Hopefully we get to see what he is really capable of when he has something to fight for.
