PS4 In UK Sells More Than Wii U’s Total Lifetime Numbers

The PlayStation 4′s sales in the have surpassed the Wii U’s total lifetime UK sales it has emerged.

Since the console’s launch on Friday, Sony has been said by retailers to have moved over 250,000 units in 48 hours.

The Wii launched in November 2012 so for PS4 to surpass it this quickly is quite the show. The Xbox One launched a week before the PS4 on November 22nd and sold just short of the Wii U’s lifetime UK sales

It’s been a rough year for Nintendo with the Wii U. So far the system has sold only 3.91 million units. The way things are beginning to look now with their sales, the Xbox One and PS4 will likely eclipse those numbers in the course of the next year, maybe sooner.
