‘Mortal Kombat X’ Announced

Earlier today, Ed Boon, Director of Netherealm Studios, announced via Twitter that the next Mortal Kombat game will be titled Mortal Kombat X. There had been a countdown going through various tweets prior to the announcement and his Twitter feed showed his various responses to people speculating about whether his pictures were hinting at a Mortal Kombat crossover game or simply the next entry in the franchise. Any and all confusion was removed when he posted this tweet:

There was also a trailer released alongside this announcement, provided below for your viewing pleasure.
