The first expansion for Age of Wonders 3 is titled Golden Realms and will contain a plethora of extra content for players. Here is what you can expect to find in your game if you purchase it:
- The Halfling race which can be used with all classes and introduces the “Luck” mechanic designed to dodge attacks while in good spirits
- The Golden Realms campaign consisting of three scenarios in an attempt to rebuild an empire and overthrow evil
- New map locations
- More than 20 new units including Mermaids, Dread Monkeys, and the Glutton
- 50 new hero items
- Wild magic and partisan specialization
- Two stand-alone scenarios for both single and multiplayer
- New city upgrades
- Empire Quests which reward players for completing certain tasks before their opponent
- New method to achieve victory
- Defensive city upgrades
All of this content will also be added to the random map generator so players need not fear that this extra content will not be used outside of the campaigns or specific scenarios. There is also a trailer to accompany the announcement.
The Golden Realms expansion is set to release on September 18, 2014 for the PC via Steam and GoG.
