The Last Guardian Still “On Track” – UPDATE: Not It Isn’t!

Update: It appears that Mr. McNamara had been misinformed as Sony Computer Entertainment President and CEO Jack Tretton confirmed today that The Last Guardian is now officially on hiatus.

While this news is disappointing it isn’t exactly unexpected. The last time the game was shown was during the 2010 Tokyo Game Show and since then the elusive title has sadly become vapourware and somewhat of a running joke within the games industry.

Farewell, The Last Guardian. We will miss you… weird cat-dog, eagle type-thing…

E3 2013: Super Mario 3D World Announced

During today’s Nintendo Direct E3 presentation the prolific publisher announced a new 3D Mario game from EAD Tokyo – the team responsible for the stellar Super Mario Galaxy titles – in the form of Super Mario 3D World.

The new adventure obviously draws a huge amount of inspiration from EAD’s last outing – Super Mario 3D Land for Nintendo 3DS – and features co-operative play for up to four participants, allowing Luigi, Toad and Peach to aid Mario on his quest. However seeing as the Princess is a playable character this time around, evidently she won’t require rescuing, so it’s unclear what the plucky plumber’s mission will be at this point.
