Vivid Entertainment to Welcome ‘Last of Us’ Developer to 2013 Line Up
Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has today announced a collaboration with Vivid Ideas, the creative industries and business event pillar of Vivid Sydney. Together they will host a panel event entitled ‘The Making of…a blockbuster game‘, where Naughty Dog developer of the highly anticipated The Last of Us will be present.
The Elder Scrolls: Arena – Rated in Australia
Recently a listing for ‘the Elder Scrolls: Arena’ has come to light in Australia’s Classification Database, leading many to speculate whether a re-imagining of the 1994 DOS adventure could currently be on Bethesda’s crafting table.
According to Game.On, the title was issued an M rating on April 9th due to the inclusion of “moderate violence”. The article also highlights the game as being “multi platform”, although specifics have yet been revealed.
‘Fire Emblem: Awakening’ Demo Now Available in ANZ
Nintendo 3DS owners in Australia and New Zealand now have access to the demo of Fire Emblem: Awakening, which is now available on the Nintendo eShop.
In Fire Emblem: Awakening you are able to create your character to take them on a personal journey, as you join Prince Chrom and the Shepards as they try to calm the animosity between the kingdoms Ylisse and Plegia. As you command your army in turn-based battles utilising your units unique skills, these battles are shown in cinematic camera positions allowing you to deal the finishing blow in first-person. ‘The Walking Dead’ Coming to Australian & European Retail May 10
Australians, Europeans and New Zealanders will finally get their hands on The Walking Dead retail disc May 10, when it releases on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
Telltale Games will be publishing their award winning adventure game, compiling all five episodes of the first season. Originally a downloadable only title, the series will now be available in retail stores.
‘One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2′ Collector’s Edition Confirmed for ANZ
Namco Bandai Games Europe have released information regarding the One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2′s Collector’s Edition, which is available exclusively to PlayStation 3 this August in Australia and New Zealand.
The Collector’s Edition will include a high quality 14cm figurine of Luffy, captain of the Straw Crew. The figurine was created by sculptor Keiji Ikwakura and will be available exclusively to the Collector’s Edition. Read the rest of this entry
‘Persona 4 Arena’ Releasing in ANZ This May
Persona 4 fans in Australia and New Zealand were today given great news, with Persona 4 Arena confirmed to come to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 2.
Fans who pre-order Persona 4 Arena will receive an exclusive Limited Edition bonus content pack, including the Official Arranged Soundtrack with exclusive artwork and Digital Fan Pack. These are being advertised as ‘strictly limited’ and won’t be available after day-one.
Mythical Pokémon Available for Limited Time Only
For only a short time a unique mythical Pokémon will be attainable for fans in Australia and New Zealand from selected retail outlets.
Between March 4th and April 19th there is a three week window where Pokémon trainers can add the eagerly anticipated mythical Pokémon Meloetta to their Pokédex. EB and Target retail stores Australiawide, as well as participating JB Hifi stores in New Zeland will be hosting a special character distribution event, allowing players of Pokémon Black & White 2, as well as the original Black & White to obtain this unique companion free of charge.

Nintendo Confirms Australian 3DS Release Dates
Following the latest Nintendo 3DS Direct, which revealed many exciting releases for the platform this year. Nintendo Australia have now confirmed release dates for several of the announced titles, these release dates are for Australian and New Zealand audiences and the titles will also be available on the Nintendo eShop.
Sony Has “Nothing To Announce” Regarding Vita Price Drop
Yesterday during the PlayStation Vita live-stream from Japan, SCEJ President Hiroshi Kawano announced a price drop for the device in Japan. The handheld Sony system is now only 19,980 Yen.
With the price drop being announced for Japan, I reached out to Sony Computer Entertainment Australia about the possibility of the system receiving a price drop in Australia.
