Sony have released a mysterious trailer on their PlayStation Youtube channel named, “The Reload”.
Now, this trailer could be advertising literally anything. What it does feature is the receptionist from Sony’s “Michael” trailer last year. Michael ended up advertising PlayStation but celebrating the player and it was a really good advert. Sony teased that before it was released and there was many a speculation of what it could be. It could simply be a continuation of the Michael campaign.
We see the woman cleaning a gun whilst sitting at the reception of what could be an office or hotel of some type. Take a note of the cash register, it says “SARU! GET YOU!”. It’s a reference from Sony’s Ape Escape franchise that we know is making an appearance in PlayStation Allstarts next month. The clock on the wall to the woman’s left has the Circle, Square, Triangle and X buttons on the clock face so maybe it’s another PlayStation celebration.
However, the most noticeable part of this trailer is that the power fails and we hear electricity crackling with a bright blue light and the woman looking in the direction of it with an annoyed look on her face. Now what could this mean? Could this be a teaser to an announcement for Infamous 3? We already know that Cole is in PlayStation Allstars and there’s only two references to franchises featured in PlayStation Allstars.
The date shown at the end is the 23rd of October 2012, the day that the PlayStation Store redesign goes live. Maybe it’s an ad for Allstars to announce that it may be available for digital download on the store.
Whatever this advert is, you can be sure that Analog Addiction will be keeping you up to date on the 23rd.
