The original Mass Effect will be coming to PS3 and PSN on the 4th of December 2012 for the first time ever.
PlayStation 3 fans have always longed to play the original Mass Effect on a PS3 and that wait paid off in September with the announcement of the Mass Effect trilogy coming to Xbox 360, PC and PS3.
The guys developing the port are the studio Edge Of Reality. “We worked around the clock to ensure the game performed at, or better-than, the performance metrics that we had from the Xbox 360. And they did it,” said Mass Effect creator BioWare. When encountering problems ME1’s engine not being able to run, “No problem,” said Edge of Reality, and they found a solution.”
The Mass Effect Trilogy is out on the 4th of November for the 360 and the PC. In addition to the announcement of the PS3 version release date, BioWare also detailed what DLC will be coming with the trilogy bundle.
PS3 gamers will get: Bring Down The Sky, Cerberus Network, Kasumi, Overlord, Lair Of The Shadow Broker and Mass Effect 3 as shipped this year. The PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 will feature the same DLC it had on disc. Xbox 360 gamers will get all the DLC that game with the original games, the same going for PC players. However, Bring Down The Sky and Pinnacle Station aren’t on the disc but they are available for free download.
