This is a rather unusual turn of events, but it seems that, if a report is indeed right, the ‘Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes’ demo which was presented last year might actually represent a separate game from ‘Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain’.
This report comes from Joystiq, who seems to contradict what the creator of the ‘Metal Gear Solid’ franchise, Hideo Kojima, said during yesterday’s conference. The website reports that the publisher of the ‘MGS’ series, Konami, confirmed to it that ‘Ground Zeroes’ will be another installment in the ‘MGS’ franchise, alongside ‘MGS V’.
“Update 2: Contrary to what Kojima said during the GDC panel today, Konami has confirmed with Joystiq that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain are indeed separate games.”
So who’s right and who’s wrong? If Kojima is right, then why would Konami lie? And if Konami is right, then might we be facing yet another deceptive move from Kojima himself?
In time, all will be revealed, so keep AA on your radar for everything ‘Metal Gear Solid’!
