You’ve done it fans! It may have taken several years, but it is official. EarthBound will be making its way to the US and EU Wii U Virtual Console some time later this year.
A sequel to the original Mother, EarthBound is a huge cult classic. According to Nintendo CEO Iwata, the decision came purely due to fan request.
It entails the story of a boy named Ness, and his four friends, who are given the quest to defeat an alien named Giygas. Our own Micheal Troina gave the game a glowing review, praising its battle system among many other things. The game is a treasure among any RPG fanatic, and its inclusion in the Wii U virtual console is sure to please many fans of the genre, especially those who never got a change to play the game when it was released on the Super Nintendo many years ago.
