Update: Sony Australia has responded to our inquiry about Australian software pricing for PlayStation 4.
Specific details on PlayStation 4 software pricing have not yet been announced for Australia. We’ll look forward to sharing more information with you as we move closer to the launch of PlayStation 4 this Holiday season.
Original Story: Sony has confirmed first party PlayStation 4 games will remain at the price they are today.
“We have announced the pricing for our first party line up of PS4 launch and launch window games,” Sony told Shack News. All four titles, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Driveclub, Knack and inFamous Second Son are all $59.99.”
Microsoft confirmed yesterday a $59.99 price point for first party games on the Xbox One.
However, this is currently the US asking price as details on other territories have yet to be confirmed. Amazon UK has Knack, Infamous, Killzone and DriveClub listed as £54.99 which doesn’t quite work out on the exchange rate but nothing’s been confirmed just yet.
Judging by Sony’s choice of words, it could mean this price will only apply to first party games.
