Nintendo 3DS streetpass update offers bevy of new features

A free update has hit for the Nintendo 3DS StreetPass Mii Plaza application that adds four new purchasable games, a new layout, and touch-screen controls.

The four new games will be available for $4.99 each or $14.99 for all four, and can be purchased through the StreetPass Mii Plaza app.


The new games available for purchase are:

  • Mii Force – Players can take control of StreetPass Mii characters and blast through a set of a villains and rogues in an attempt to maintain galactic stability.
  • Flower Town – Players can build up their own virtual gardens. They can plant seeds, and watch them grown and cross-pollinate as they StreetPass with others.
  • Warrior’s Way – Players use StreetPass to bring together an army of Mii characters and unite a nation.
  • Monster Manor – As player’s meet new StreetPass Mii characters, they’ll receive collectible floor pieces that let them ascend higher into the mansion. They will adventure as they fight ghosts and obtain treasure on their way to the top.

Nintendo has also revamped the rewards system for the StreetPass Mii Plaza. Players will now be able to receive tickets for completing various goals in a each of the StreetPass games. They can redeem these tickets for a number of new Mii Character hats and outfits including:  a full-body Luigi Costume, a Yoshi’s Egg Hat, a Super Mushroom Hat and a Super Star Hat.

The new update will also provide Nintendo 3DS owners with new expression and greeting options for their Mii characters, as well as one of four new Puzzle Swap panels at random.
