Eurogamer Expo 2013: Forza 5 Hands On

Let’s get the obvious out of the way first, Forza is a beautiful game in every aspect, from the cars to the track. Driving around the Laguna Seca circuit in a Ford Focus RS, going down the iconic Corkscrew it’s a seriously pretty game. Beneath that exterior there’s a very good driving game.

Being played on the Xbox One, the game ran as smooth as it looks good. The cars handled realistically and crisp with the tyres screaming in agony if you took too much speed into the corner. The AI was competitive, making you work and choose the right corner to make your move but not so easy that it wasn’t a challenge. Cars took damage and needless to say my aggressive racing style caused a fair bit of damage to my car, which in my case was just aesthetic damage rather than damage to the overall performance of the car.

As a whole, this is a game which really showcases what the Xbox One can do, and my only gripe is that the demo wasn’t long enough.
