‘POKEMON X & Y’ SELLS FOUR MILLION COPIES IN TWO DAYS

Since it released worldwide on Saturday, Oct. 12, Pokemon and Pokemon Y have sold 4 million copies combined within a 48-hour time period.

X and are the first games in the series to launch simultaneously across the world. The 4 million units sold comes come from Japan, Europe and the U.S.

The games are also on track to becoming the fastest-selling 3DS of all time. At the same time, X and Y are exceeding Pokemon Black 2 and Pokemon White 2‘s sales number by more than 70 percent.

Nintendo additionally stated the Pokemon franchise has sold 245 million games worldwide since March 31, 2013, which now means the series has sold at least 249 million units as of Sunday, Oct. 13.
