New Details on ‘Rayman Legends’ for PS4 and Xbox One

Update: Ubisoft Australia has also confirmed Rayman Legends will release for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in European and Australian regions on February 27.

Original story: Fresh details, including a North American release date, have been outed on the upcoming PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Rayman Legends.

When it was announced mid-November that Rayman Legends was making its way to next-gen consoles, the only information we had on a release date was sometime in February, but now we have a confirmed date: Feb. 25 for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

If you have been wondering what differences there will be between current-gen and next-gen versions of Rayman Legends, it turns out there will be quite a few.

Firstly, the load times between maps have not only been reduced, but the visuals are receiving an upgrade as well.

Both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will receive exclusive costumes. The Xbox One will have Splinter Ray, Ray Vaas and Globox Vaas modeled after Splinter Cell and Far Cry 3 respectively. The PlayStation 4 version will get the Assassin’s Creed-inspired Assassin Ray costume. Using Uplay points, players can purchase the Funky Ray costume for both consoles. Below is a picture of Ray Vaas.

Each console will utilize its unique features for Rayman Legends as well. The Xbox One version will have “10 exclusive challenges to unlock new time-limited Achievements” while the PlayStation 4 will utilize the touchpad to do things such as scratching off Lucky Tickets. The PlayStation 4 will also allow players to share videos and screenshots of the game and take the game with them off-screen with the PlayStation Vita.

In addition to next-gen iterations, there is also a new browser-based PC demo of the game online now. The demo contains the three levels Teensies in Trouble, Toad Story and musical level Castle Rock. The demo can be played at http://www.raymangame.com/demo with a mouse and keyboard or Xbox 360 controller.

Even Snoop Lion has basked in Rayman Legends with a new trailer.
