Steam Summer Sale Dates Announced – Wallets Everywhere Silently Weep

There’s a special time of year where we as a community put aside our differences and come together. Whether we be casual gamers, art game enthusiasts, self-proclaimed “hardcore” gamers (usually pretty self proclaimed, to be honest), or anywhere else in between, we all can take joy in the declaration of summer in the United States. Why, you ask? Three words with Three S’s: Steam Summer Sale.

Word on the official dates of Steam’s summer sale were leaked yesterday on a social post at IGN Russia. According to the post, the sale with begin June 11th and go until June 20th. Following this there will be a two day encore sales event where the best deals will be offered again. The original post can be found on the website, but thanks to the ever so handy Google translate, here’s (roughly) what the post says:

Steam Sale starts June 11 at 20:00 Moscow time .

June 20 will begin ” Sale Encore ,” which will involve all the companies that participated in the Summer Sale .

The very sale ends June 22 at 20:00 Moscow time.

The events and other details so far unknown.

Also we advise to read our guidance on sales , not to spend all the money in one day.

I’m always internally conflicted this time of year. I’m excited because hopefully some games I’d love to get will be cheaper than usual (looking at you, Elder Scrolls Unlimited), but also I’ll definitely spend more money than I anticipate. The never ending cycle of feeling validated because you bought something cheap but feeling guilty because you spend more money than you anticipated anyway…

What games are you hoping will go on sale this summer?
