During its Gamescom 2015 briefing, Xbox announced that Xbox One backwards compatibility will be available for everyone this November.
Xbox also revealed that all future Xbox 360 Games With Gold titles will be backwards compatible at launch. First party franchises such as Halo, Fable and Crackdown will be playable on Xbox One, and many third party publishers are supporting the service.
Yesterday, Xbox revealed that playing Gears of War Ultimate Edition through Xbox Live from launch day until the end of the year will grant users all four previous Gears of War titles for free through backwards compatibility.
Xbox One backwards compatibility was announced at E3 2015. Xbox One Preview members currently have access to a range of Xbox Live Arcade titles to help Microsoft test the service before launch.
